The most important question you’ll ever ask in your life is who am I?
There will come a time in your life, where this question is one that must be answered. But the answer may not come easily.
Most find this a difficult question to answer, because most of us don’t know who we really are, underneath the roles, and the labels that we have attached ourselves to. When we find ourselves playing a role, because its what’s expected to what we think we should do, we can find ourselves adrift, when adrift it is very easy to keep playing the roles or fulfilling the label that we have, or others have attached to us.
The only way to truly answer this transformational question, you need to give yourself permission to peel away the label, get beyond the role so you can genuinely see who you really are. Meaning that you are moving beyond your past conditioning and being curious about the person who is staring back at you in the mirror.
When you do this, you need to take a long good look, you need to give yourself permission to really see and not be judgemental of what you see or what you feel as that will take you back to the roles and the labels.
In the movie Avatar there is a moment where you hear the words ‘I see you’ for someone else to really see you, is one of life’s beautiful moments, but can you imagine, you doing that for yourself and how powerful that could be?
So I am going to invite you to really see you. I am going to ask you to give yourself permission to untangle yourself form the roles and the labels and I want you to stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself? Who am I?
Remember do not to judge yourself, be critical or unkind to yourself. Have an open mind and truly see you – yourself. You may not find the answer straight away, this does not mean you’re a failure because you do not know the answer, it just means you need to sit with the question for a little bit longer until the answer emerges. And it will!
